Chapel

Chapel near Nernier, FranceClick on image for larger view.

Returning home from a day’s outing along the south shore of Lake Geneva, we passed this little chapel hidden away in the trees. I know nothing about it except that it’s near Nernier in France. I thought it was pretty enough to photograph, especially with the field of purple loosestrife in front of it. Nernier is behind the chapel, the ridge in the background is the French section of the Jura mountain range, the treed ridge is Switzerland, with the lake between it and Nernier. The Jura is a sub-alpine mountain range that is located in both France and Switzerland and stretches from the Rhine to the Rhone rivers. The Jura is a premier cross country skiing destination. We can’t forget the excellent food and wine that is also available in that region… 😊
