Frost-painted leaves

Today our temps reached +17C. That’s probably about 10 degrees warmer than normal, and quite a change from a week or so ago when we had snow and our highs were hovering around freezing… I’m not complaining, altho we were inundated with torrential rain and high winds that kept things feeling somewhat cooler than that 17 degrees.

But as a reminder of what we could be experiencing instead of +double digit temps, I thought I’d share this image of leaves lined with early morning frost that definitely can’t be found around here this week.

    • I love frosted leaves. What I like even more is the selective distribution of the frost because in this case it means that the day this image was captured we weren’t locked in an icy grip, otherwise all the leaves would have been frosted. On that day the frost melted as the day advanced. 🙂
